Summer

Okay sorry I haven't blogged in like 4 months but this summer has been very hectic. I'll try to blog 1-3 times a week. So to catch you up to date.... We went to Maine, we went to Texas, I'm playing football, School started, and we went to a weekend retreat.

  1. Maine. Every year we go to this little cabin on a beautiful cove. We go to a little penny candy store in the town across the way. We went to the beach every day and it was awesome
  2. Texas. We went to see our cousins and help them move into there new house. We made music videos, we played LEGOs, and walked dogs.
  3. In football I scored a touchdown and made a few tackles.
  4. School. Just started school and it's pretty hard to get doing it.

Crosswalk 08

So we just got back from a summer camp where my dad was the camp pastor. I was a camper and I loved it! I met a lot of new people that I'm going to miss a lot and I learned a lot to. This year it was on relationships with God, Friends, and Family. Let me explain a day of it though.

  1. 7:00- wake up get ready to go to the cafeteria and eat breakfast.
  2. 8:45- The morning celebration. This was a wake up time for some. We had X-treme bingo, Silly Songs with Pat and Tommy, Crosswalk's got talent ( a spoof on American idol ) and then Dad gave us the morning scripture.
  3. 9:30-10:30 Bible study.
  4. 10:30-11:00 recreation. We played kinds of Olympic games that didn't make it to the Olympics. Like sack races, big Volleyball, team jump rope, and more.
  5. 11:30-1:00 lunch.
  6. 1:30-3:00 track time where I played football, soccer, kickball, ultimate Frisbee, and cricket which is actually a really fun game.
  7. 3:00-5:00 free time.
  8. 5:00-6:30 dinner.
  9. 6:45-7:30 fellowship. This when we played games like we had to make different costumes out of tape and newspaper. We even had space night where we all dressed up in something related to space. There were many different Darth Vaders walking around.
  10. 8:00-9:30 worship. This was where Dad preached and we had to wear more formal clothes.
So this is what a day at CW 08 was like. hope you enjoyed it.

After the climax

Here I am bored stiff after 3 weeks of non stop excitement. First Mom and Dad went to Switzerland for 8 days then 4 days later we left for a Christian summer camp where my dad was camp pastor. Now I am sitting around doing nothing all day. I can't wait for school!

PSP

PSP stands for playstation portable. It's a hand held game system made by SONY who also makes the playstation. I love my new toy an I'm a little obsessed with it so my siblings say. I got 3 games to. I got Medal of Honor ( a WW2 game) Madden 08 ( Football I highly recommend this game) and LEGO Star wars ( This is an awesome game incorporating legos with star wars). Well that's all for now.

A Boat load of Fun

More like kayak than boat though. My birthday is on June 29 but we have to have my family party now because Mom and Dad are going to Switzerland to do a wedding. So I got an inflatable kayak! It's so cool and I can't wait to use it. Tomorrow on Father's Day we're going to this awesome lake near a huge mountain. We are going to pack a picnic dinner and we're going to do lot's of kayaking.

The Vowels

Lately I've been trying to find a word that has all 5 vowels in it so far the only one is Supercalafragalisticexpialadocious. Which isn't even a word. So if you find a word with all the vowels in it I will be amazed.

Then when Mom and Dad get back we're going to go to Crosswalk 08. It's this awesome Christian camp that my dad preaches at almost every year. i am going to be a camper and go to bible study and play games outside and hang out with new friends. Chicken Update.

The cute little fluff balls are getting bigger and getting more feathers. They have learned to jump out of the box and walk around the kitchen.

Here's one of them on the on the wall of the coop. When they jump out they will walk around in the kitchen peeping very loud to let us know that "I'm out!" They'll all be asleep and one will walk right through them and wake them all up.
They love to eat and drink and then they sleep and then do it all over again. They get pretty annoying after they peep loud and clear. Think of doing school and then you here a very loud PEEP. They are now in the mudroom with our dog. They are O.K with the dog but our dog is scared of them. That's about it for now.

Chicken Fever.

My Mom has wanted chickens for a long time and she finally got them. We got the little balls of down on Monday and they are the cutest things ever . They're so soft and very fast when they don't want to be held. They'll fall asleep in your hands and they try to jump out of their cage but each time they hit the wall and fall back down none have hurt themselves though. Here are some pictures of them.

They are so cute. But they will jump off your hand into they're cage from a height of almost a foot!
To teach them how to drink you have to dunk their heads in the water same with the food.
I love their little wings and their determination to fly over the wall out into the world. They spend the night in the basement. When they fall asleep they fall forward on they're faces and then the back comes down and they're asleep. I will keep you updated on them.

Our First Lost Game.

We lost to the braves 8-3. It was very sad after we crushed the last team. Dad says that they were probably the best team though. I'm going to pitch at our next game. Keep you updated.

Our Paper Bear?

One morning while me and my brother were doing our paper route we saw a bunch of police cars sitting in the middle of the road ( it was a little road called Blue Hills ). We wondered why they were there and when we walked past they said that there was a black bear wandering around here and to be careful. So we kept doing the paper route keeping our eyes peeled though. We thought that since we had our dog with us that he would give us plenty of warning. I went up and delivered to a house where on one side there was a very small line of trees that I usually walk through but this time I decided not to and I walked across the road to the next house. Well after I had delivered to that house my brother and I turned around and saw a black bear across the road in front of the house right next to the one I had just delivered to. He was looking right at us and was walking straight out of the little line of trees that I usually go through. It kept walking and didn't pay us any mind. Our dog was pulling at the leash like he wanted to go make friends with the bear ( our dog is the friendliest dog on the block). After the bear walked off my brother and I ran back to the police and told the police about it they immediately drove over to the spot to keep an eye out for the bear. We walked home and got dad to drive us the rest of the paper route. I hope the bear found it's way back home and didn't bother anyone and that is about the most exciting paper route ever!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Baseball season has officially started and our team has won the first game. My dad is the coach and our team name is the "Black Sheep White Sox". The Black Sheep is a popular coffee and pastry place downtown Amherst. We killed the team we played like 15-3 or something like that. Although this game was just for fun to kick off the season we played like we meant it. We hit a homer, triples, and lots of doubles. The other team kept making errors and bad throws where they should of got the out but over threw.I'm Short-stop, pitcher and catcher sometimes ( not all at the same time I should add ). Tomorrow I'm going to pitch and I'm really excited. I'll keep you updated on the games we play.

Spring ( finally )

It's is finally spring! After 5 months it is here. It's 60 and a little breezy we have been playing outside for a lot of the afternoon. There are little buds on the leaves. Here are some pictures.
This is our backyard where we wage battles play football, soccer, and baseball games. And some other things that can't be explained in words!

This is our looking out our front door into the road where my brother and I walk every morning to do our paper route. about 4-5 ambulances and a million cars go by our house every day.
My sister's garden house is many things a pillbox, a castle, a lodge for weary travelers from Greece, and a farm. It took 2 days to build and 2 hours to paint. Sorry I haven't been able to blog it has been a while. i'll try to blog more. How's your spring?!

Easter Sunday

Sorry I haven't blogged in forever. This weekend was Easter ( as you should know ) and I've been thinking of Jesus' humility to come down and die for us. I've been struggling with this for a while. On Good Friday we went to our annual service at 7 o'clock and a staff/assistant pastor had an awesome service. Before I go any further I should explain that he painted 8 pictures for Jesus' last days. They're very modern and abstract ( I couldn't understand any of them ). That night there were lots of candles and people blew them out during the service until it was completely dark except for one small candle on the stage. Then Jesus breathed his last and the candle was blown out and it was completely dark. Darkness had taken the king of the world until Sunday. Everyone prayed and then left. Then Easter Sunday! We all rushed down stairs to see our Easter baskets from Santa clause .......... oh that's a different holiday. We then went to church and learned about death ( and resurrection ). At home we colored eggs and then we hid them and found them at least 4 times. Then 4 people we know from church came and we ate an awesome Easter dinner and watched AFV and Extreme Home Makeover. It was a great Easter and a beautiful day for Christ to come back.

Piano

I'm definitely not the most fond of piano unless I know the song by heart. But I have the best teacher in the world and she has been my teacher for 6 years! She is awesome she has the most patience in the world. I usually don't finish a song even a easy one for about 2-3 weeks ( I'm the biggest procrastinator in the world ). Procrastinate - to put off action. She never has gotten mad in the six years I've been practicing. Cooper and Kayla play the piano to and after class we go and get a special treat with mom across the street at a little store The Cushmans Market and get dark chocolate, root beer , chai tea ,and an ice cream bar. So I shall keep trying and playing so wish me luck.

Spring! Well Almost

Well I don't know what some of you might say but to me it felt like it ( it was 46 degrees ). I wore short sleeves and some others wore shorts and tee shirts with no coat ( these were the crazy college students that will find a way to wear shorts in March. Some of these people I know). Well at least almost all the snow melted. So when you're enjoying 60's - 70' think of me.

A Christian Concert in Amherst?

This past Friday my family went to a Casting Crowns concert with some friends of ours from Westfield. This was my first concert ever and I loved every minute of it! It was so loud and my sister didn't like the sound much. We also went with another friend of ours named Jim Mozel. Here's some pictures from the concert.
The concert was at the Mullins Center. Which is a big building where the University of Massachusetts ( A.K.A Umass ) play basketball, and hockey.

This is our friend Jim. Cooper is in there to.

This is the Reif family. They have all girls except for Ben there little 3 or 5 year old. Kayla is in there making one of her weird faces.

The concert was awesome and I would like to go to many more.

The Big Tree/ Fort/And a Broken Leg Waiting to Happen

So a couple weeks ago my Brother and I found A huge tree limb that had fallen on some other trees and got caught perfectly horizontal. So........... we made the coolest thing since sliced bread! It is so much fun to climb all over and play Lord Of The Rings and castles. But it is a accident waiting to happen. Here are some pictures of it.

This is the tree from the ground.
This is the tree's armory. We made lots of swords and spears from the surrounding woods.

This is me up in the armory and looking down on Cooper who is taking the picture.

This is Cooper on the ground by the little stream going through the way backyard.

The retirement home in this picture is behind our house and lots of people go in and out of it. I love spying on it from the tree. Isn't it awesome?! I think so. Just keep praying that we don't kill ourselves playing on it.

Me and My Teeth

Today while I was doing school my last baby tooth came out. It had been hanging by a string for a day now and it was getting annoying. So while I was doing math it popped out. This was my last baby tooth and I was kind of sad when it finally did come down to it. Now I have three huge ( or so it seems to me) holes in my teeth. This makes it very hard to eat.

Fact Friday

Every Friday I'm going to post a interesting fact about anything I think of.
A three year old boy found a mammoth tooth while he was chasing squirrels near
Lacrosse, WI. He thought it was a funny rock and brought it to his grandpa who knew it was a mammoth tooth. His grandpa had found one 9 yrs before.

That was interesting fact one. I got this information from a kid's magazine called God's World News. It is my favorite magazine.

Not so perfect anymore

You all know that the New England Patriots were number one in the NFL, 19-0, until last night. They played the New York Giants in the biggest game of the football season, the Super Bowl . It was a great game and the Patriots played, well let's say it wasn't their best. Eli manning , New York's quarterback, played out of his head, he was amazing! Tom Brady, the Patriots quarterback didn't play as well. He threw lots of sloppy passes and got sacked 7-8 times ( he isn't the greatest guy in his personal life either). The Giants pulled through and beat the number one team in the last forty seconds and that's when the Patriots really messed up. Probably because they threw 3 really sloppy passes to their best receivers who could of changed the game radically. So the Patriots must return to the cold New England snow and wait till another day.

Bellville

After we got back to San Marcos Grammie and Paw Paw called and said that they wanted to take us to my great grandfather's ranch in Bellville, TX. So they came up to my Grandad's house and picked us up . The trip was about 2- 2 and a half hours long into the country. My great grandfather has about a hundred cattle .
When we got there he said that God had given him something from nature and that gift was a wild pig in a trap. So when his ranch hands got back we headed out to the pasture to take a "Look" at it .
(This is my great grandfather. He turns 89 in march and he works like a mule from 5 a.m to 9 p.m.)

When we got there the pig was snorting and running around inside the trap and I was to scared to go up and take this picture, but I did. Then Colby came over and started shooting it in the head with a .22 caliber pistol. The bullets just bounced off it's head, so they had to go to the backup plan which was of course another gun except this time the bullet didn't bounce off. It went through his skull and knocked him down. They lifted the trap and cut his throat which wasn't the most enjoyable thing to watch.
Then we took him up to the house, hung it up on a tractor, and cut it's head off. Blood came gushing out! OK, I'm joking, hardly any blood came out. Then they started cutting the skin away from his hind legs and worked their way down.
This is the head. Isn't it pretty?
This what it looked like after they skinned it and cut it down the middle. All the guts came out and my grandpa's dog was licking at the guts and growling at anyone who came near her food. Then they started pulling out the intestines and the organs and A.J came over with the heart and asked if I wanted to hold it. I refused and he threw it back in the pile. I would not recommend this job to the squeamish.
Then they started to cut it up and put it in the icebox. They used an electric saw to do this and it cut through about everything. The guy on the left is Colby and the one on the right is A.J.

The place hams come from is the legs. Think about this picture next time you're eating or preparing ham. Just don't turn vegetarian, I'm anti vegetables. I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did. We had a great time in Bellville, but this was definitely my second favorite part. My favorite was hanging around with a bunch of rednecks and family.

The Great State Of Texas

So all month we were in Texas and oh yeah Oklahoma to but we had an awesome time there (in TX I mean). First my mom and dad went to the Inn Above Onion Creek for my uncles 40 th birthday. My Uncle and Aunt live in a little town called San Marcos which is about a half hour out of San Antonio. Our 3 cousins are crazy. Well at least 2 of them. Jonah and Madeline are the crazy ones. Maisie is definitely not as crazy she just loves playing with her moms I-phone. The inn was amazing! It had very homey rooms, sunken tubs, and fire places that were on both sides of the wall. Willy Porter, an amazing guitarist, did a concert for the birthday party! I have never seen anyone move their fingers so fast and change chords so rapidly! My brother, sister and I stayed with our Aunt who took us to see the Water Horse. That was a great movie and it had a great story. It was a little scary for my sister. She still liked it though. We stayed at my grandad's house. He is a Resistol salesman and has lots and lots of cowboy hats.

Then after the party weekend we went to Grammie and Paw Paw's house in Hondo. While we were there we went fishing at a little ranch and also went paddle boating. I caught the only fish of the day and my brother was very disappointed he didn't catch anything. My grandparents gave me and my brother Texas T-shirts. Then we headed back to San Marcos were we switched cars with Aunt Melissa.

They have 2 hybrids that I just loved. One was a Toyota Highlander and the other was my favorite. It was a Honda civic with a GPS system. We loaded up in the Highlander and headed to Oklahoma. We couldn't drive the entire way so we stopped in Dallas and stayed the night in a hotel. It had a pool and we swam all night it seemed.

The next day we had lunch with the Franklins in Sulphur, OK and then headed to Tulsa and spent the night at the Murphy's house. On the following day we had a party with all of the friends we've known since they were in college and came to my mom and dad's church or Bible studies. Now they have lots of kids and I got to be babysitter. That was an interesting experience and we had chaos with the kids for about 2 hours! The next morning we went to U.H.B.C University Heights Baptist Church where people just walked up to me and knew everything about me but I knew nothing about them! That evening we went to the Smith's for dinner. They have 4 boys and the youngest, Sam, I've known for forever it seems. We spent the night at the James' house and in the morning we headed to see more Oklahoma friends. The Jones' and the Meffords who have 4 girls and 1 boy. We played lots of pool and ate really good fajitas.

The next day we drove to the Graf's house in Georgetown, TX - friends of my mom and dad's. They have 4 kids our ages. But they had school in the morning and they couldn't play for long. We headed back to San Marcos where we played on the rocks around Grandad's house, had a Christy movie marathon, went to see the new Veggie Tales movie, visited the Texas Museum, and the Harry Ransom Center where we saw a copy of the Guttenburg Bible. We also got to go to Enchanted Rock with Uncle Stu and Aunt Melinda and the rest of our San Marcos family. Uncle Stu took Maisie, Jonah and me into Enchanted Cave. That was so much fun and it could be dangerous. In some places there were only 12-15 in. wide cracks to crawl through to keep going and cracks that slid away to who knows where! We didn't get to play much with our cousins though, because they had the flu. I really liked our time in Texas.
Sorry if this post was a little long

New Year's Eve on A Snowmobile?

Last night aka.(new year's eve) we went to a friend of ours house with about 12-15 other people and stayed and played games and rode snowmobiles. I want a snowmobile to ride around on all day. Those things go like 60 miles an hour and it feels like your about to fly away on it. I went with my friend's dad on about a mile long rode through the woods on it. It was awesome! After that we went inside and played some games and ate snacks and drank eggnog (just joking). Then we left at about 11:45 and we were on the rode when 2008 started. Cooper and Kayla were asleep but not me. I've never been up on New Year's Eve but this year I'm glad I did.

Happy New Year!
